CAR PROBLEMS

Patti and I Just finished our 5th week in Danderhall (Calvary Edinburgh). On our way home the car started overheating. It made a noise like belt or something was loose or slapping and then stopped. I only see the one belt but it looks fine. Anyway we were able to get home by waiting for the engine to cool and starting off again for 5 - 8 miles at a time until we got home. I am taking it in to the shop today. The prayer request would be two-fold. One, something simple with not to much damage... and provision financially to take care of the bill.

PRAISE FROM DANDERHALL

The past 5 weeks have been wonderful in Danderhall (Calvary Edinburgh). I filled in... teaching through the book of Colossians while Patti lead in Worship. They are a small body of very mature believers. They have gone through a rough patch with a few families leaving the fellowship for various reasons.

Prayerfully Dan And Pat (Pastor & Wife) have had a wonderful time on Holiday visiting family in the States. a chance for renewal and vision.

We had a visitor last Sunday. Zsuzsi from Hungary who is working in Edinburgh. She is in her early 20s. She says she will be coming back.

PRAY FOR DAN

Our friends Dan and Anna are missionaries in Alomos Mexico. Dan is still in prison. it could be another month before his case is reviewed. things move slow and the government is corrupt. Dan has had a fantastic prison ministry. people follow him everywhere. He is teaching constantly. Pray for Anna as she is with out Her husband, pastor, and friend. Pray that the lawyer they have hired will do his job, and pray for his salvation. Pray for Dan and his health as the conditions are poor. Pray for those he is able to minister to. Pray for his release and his spiritual condition to stay high.

PRAY FOR OUR FINANCES

I never want to even write about this; but if you are reading this blog then you are part of our prayer support and I covet your prayers over this issue. You know I am not begging you for money... Just your prayers concerning it.

I have been on the job search here for over six months to no avail. I have had only 2 interviews. Things are tight and there is a push to hire nationals.

I have never been an immigrant minority before... it has been very interesting and frustrating.

Please pray for a job or that the Lord provides through donations.

So pray as the Lord leads on this issue. I know times are difficult for all. We are so blessed by our Faithful donors, and especially those who keep us in prayer.

PRAYER FOR THE GALA

This is a city wide event that is supposed to be for the children. it has become fairly commercial and the cost for the children overall is a bit much. It is held in a very large park and there are booths for food and events, as well as bouncy castles and the like. Our fellowship joined the event last year to get involved with the community and provided a free event which everyone thought was tremendous. We gave away free prizes to the children and it really got some attention. Though we are not to openly proselytize at the event we are handing out fliers for the church with some basic information. This year we are doing an event booth and a bouncy obstacle course both of which are offered for free. Please pray for success with our becoming know within the community, opportunities to share the Gospel (God's Free Gift of Salvation) and that we don't catch too much flack from others that charge for their events.

Please pray for Dan and Ana Jones. 

They are missionaries in Mexico. 

Dan was arrested last Tuesday. 

They have been the target of the enemy for several months now. 

It started when the lawyer they hired failed to handle a couple of adoptions legally. 

Though the Rays were unaware of this, it did not matter. 

The girls were removed for quite some time while things were resolved. 

During that time the authorities searched the house and found "hunting guns" that were not registered in Mexico. 

Even though these did not belong to Dan he was arrested as the house is in his name.

Please pray that this issue can be taken care of soon and that the courts will find in favor of  Dan & Ana so that they can get back to the work the Lord has them doing.

Please keep Ericka and Sean in prayer. Ericka was taken to the hospital last night because she had cramping. it turns out that her pregnancy of 7 weeks was a Tubal pregnancy and she was experiencing internal bleeding. The doctors say she was very fortunate to have caught it at this point or they may have had to remove her Fallopian tubes. This is her second miscarriage this year. Please keep them and the family in prayer. Niether Ericka or Sean are walking with the Lord. They have both make professions of faith in the past but have not been walking for several years. Ericka is the daughter or Ken and Evie Scott (Ken is the pastor of Calvary Dunfermline).

Please Keep Scott in prayer as he fills in for Dan Starling, pastor of Calvary Edinburgh, as they are on holiday in the states for 5 weeks. Scott will also be building a fence for them while they are gone.

Scott will be teaching through the book of Colossians. Pray for him to have the message that the fellowship there needs to hear.

Scott has a job interview the week of the 18th. The interview is with Bethany Christian Trust.

Scott had applied for another possition two weeks ago and received a letter stating he would not be considered for the possition... then Tuesday he received a call informing him that they would like to schedule him for an interview for another possition that they have. (it is actually a better possition) Please pray that the Lord puts the right person in this possition. 

Please also keep "The Gala" in prayer. this is a community wide event that takes place in on of the large parks here in Dunfermline. This was intended to be "for the children" but has lost that focus. We are doing at least one booth if not two (Games, cake walk type event) and an inflatable (bouncy castle type thingy). Please pray for us for the funds, volunteers, donations (materials and prizes) as we work to bless the folk in the community. 

Note: Everyone else in the community charges for their events... like eternal life in Christ... we want to offer it free to the children.

April 29th UPDATE

Please keep Patti and I in prayer as we fill in over the next 6 weeks for other pastors.

I will be teaching here in Dunfermline on Sunday as Ken and Evie take a few days off in celebration of Ken's birthday.

Then I will be teaching at Calvary Edinburgh for the next following 5 weeks. Just pry for me to be emptied of myself and filled by the Holy Spirit to deliver the Word He has for this congregation. Patti will be leading worship as well so pray for her be receptive to the Holy Spirit as well as she plans worship sets and leads worship.

Please continue to Pray for a part time job for me. Or that our income increases through donation... however the Lord choose to provide is fine with us. The job situation hear is notany better than the states, but there are openings... I  think that there may a bit of discrimination going on but I don't know for sure. 

Please pray for Mark and Trish. Trish is a single mom. Mark is 15 years old, unsaved, mostly willing to come to church with his mom. He has been stuggling lately with his mouth. He "swears out" his mom, is finding himself in trouble at school, etc. I believe he is being bullied... but it could patially be self induced. please join me in praying for Mark's salvation. He and I have a pretty good relationship. He tells me more than I would ever confide with anyone at any age. Pray for me as that in itself is a burden.

Pray for Patti and I to get a Newsletter out... there is always something that comes up as we try put it together.

April Update

Ireland... thank you for the prayer support. 

The Ladies trip went very well. They had a number of opportunities to minister and share the Gopel. Patti was blessed to see friends and make new ones from our Grass Valley Fellowship.

The Men's trip went very well as well. We poured a tons of concrete (actually 63 tonne) moved masses of rock and had great fellowship. We had one lad with us that had been coming to DCM events since he was 7. Now 24 his desire is to be a pastor and continue to work with intercity Kids in Dublin. So he found what it was like to be a pastor by hanging out with myself, Duane Triplett, and Jeff Alaways... Lord help the children of Dublin!

I had my Job interview! It went very well. We took time to pray for the men of Scotland, to pray for the interview process and that the Lord would lift up the right person for the job... I don't know if I will get the possition but it was a great time, and great contacts. Please continue to pray as we have not yet heard anything.

Please pray for our financial situation. We are getting to the point where I need to get a job if the support does not increase. (this is not a plug for you to give, or give more. you are prayer warriors and I ask for that alone.) I know the Lord knows what we need. So I guess be in prayer for me to trust Him more... and know how to proceed in the job search. (jobs are hard to come by and I am a minority old person)

Please pray for Elisa Scott as she heads back to AZ to head-up the childrens ministry in Cottonwood. Pray for her parents here who will miss her deeply.

Please pray for me as I will be filling in for the pastor of CC in Ediburgh as he goes on holiday for 5 weeks. Pray for wisdom as to what book or letter to teach. Pray for Patti as she prepares to do worship there.

Pray for the people here in Fife. Pray that we can be effective ministers of Jesus' love. Pray that we have opportunities to minister within the community.

Please pray for Fiona and Dave... Fiona has been coming to church for a couple of months. she ahs not made a decision for Jesus... Yet! She wants to "make sure before she makes a commitment." Her husband Dave has moved out of the house. He came to church once and only stayed through half the service. There is a major battle going on for their souls... please pray.

Please Pray for upcoming trips to Ireland... 

   Patti (18th-27th) with the ladies from Crossroads Church (Grass Valley CA) as they minister to the women  of Dublin. Pray for safety, opportunity to share the Gospel, open hearts, empty vessels filled with the Holy Spirit, new members to the family of God, Freedom from religion.

  Scott will be working with some of the men from Crossroads at Dublin Christian Missions camp the end of March/first week of April. We will be doing some concrete work. Pray for Travel mercies, safety, weather, wisdom, fellowship. Pray for Dublin Christian Missions and their outreach to the communities in and around Dublin.

  Pray for Scott as he has an opportunity for a position at "Christian Men Together of Scotland"  http://www.christianmentogether.com  this job could greatly change things for Scott and Patti as far as location and focus. Pray for God's will to be done, Pray for the board of directors to choose the correct person for this position, Pray for Scott in the interview process, Pray for the men of Scotland to have a passion for Jesus Christ and put to death the flesh and religiosity. 

Pray for Scott as he works with Yes-U-Are a local Christian organisation that is working to get off the ground to serve the local community. Our focus is a place for folks to come as a safe alternative to the pubs and clubs for all ages. It is much much more that ... I will have to write an article on it.... pray for the board  members to be committed to the cause, Pray for favor from the council of Fife, Pray for funding to support a building and eventually staff to run it, Pray for the people of Dunfermline... for salvation, for them to see the difference between religion and a relationship with Jesus.

Pray for Elisa Scott (Ken and Evie's daughter) as she seeks finances to return to Cottonwood AZ. to run the Children's Ministry at her home church.  Pray for a job to support her until they can make it a paid position. Pray for her parents as they adjust to her leaving Scotland.

Please be in prayer for Patti as she has a bad tooth ache.

She has a temporary filling and a dentist appointment in about 

three weeks.

Pray for Fiona and Dave for Salvation. Pray that they come to church tomorrow.
